IMO it is wrong for people to try to influence other parents, especially when your opinion is based on "research" done in questionable ways or information that is based on other peoples' opinions and not facts and scientific evidence. This is something parents need to decide for themselves using real facts, their doctor's opinion and not pushed by people that don't agree with them.
I don't know that anyone is trying to influence someone NOT to do something - but only to think about it.

Maybe twenty years from now we will know the truth - maybe.

I don't want to influence anyone to do anything - except question. Get information from a lot of sources. There is a lot of information out there.

I don't fault anyone for having the vaccine - just as I don't think anyone should be berated for not getting it.

I don't think you realize the damage that HPV can do. Those of us who've lost only our cervixes and uteri are the lucky ones. The unlucky ones die or....I am still haunted by the story of a woman on Hyster Sisters...she lost all of her girl parts. ALL of them, also her bladder. She has to go around with a urine bag attached to her 24/7 and she will never be able to have sex again. If you think that isn't a disability, I don't know what to say.

That's true, chamoisee. I know a lady who had to have most of her girl parts removed, (still has a vagina, that's it), part of her bladder and part of her colon....at the age of 32!

HPV causes 70% of the cases of cervical cancer. If, for example, someone found something mechanical in vehicles that caused 70% of the auto accidents, people on here would be DEMANDING that it was fixed or changed, and would say they wanted to protect their children.

HPV kills. Sometimes it kills young.

I agree. Just make sure that your sources are legitimate and come from valid studies. Everything on the internet or in print is not necessarily true.

That lady was asking what to do, because a guy was asking her out, she liked him and wanted to accept, but had no idea how to tell him that sex, at least the usual kind, would be impossible. :-( Imagine.

Whooping cough is making a comeback because people aren't getting vaccinated (and this disease can kill a small child) and the one person I have cared for who had tetanus, which incidentally is not transmissible person-to-person but is universal in soil bacteria, was on a ventilator for a month.

As for the brain damage which ran in families and seemed to be linked to the old DPT vaccine, it has since been discovered that those people had a genetic error of sodium metabolism in the brain and would have become disabled anyway.

I grew up with several families who had a member disabled, usually deaf, because of prenatal rubella. We don't have to deal with that any more either. The MMR vaccine was linked (this has since been debunked) to autism, and interestingly, rubella can lead to autism in the child when contracted in the first month of pregnancy, often before the mother even suspects she's pregnant at all. I wonder how many of the older adults with autism are a result of this.

Ah, yes. BUT it is a NATURAL reason for not having periods. It is not drug or artificial hormone induced.

My guess is that you are referring to polio.

I have seizures. Many years ago I was put on this new medicine. I was told it was wonderful, and had no side effects; a few weeks later I was called and told to stop taking it, and bring it into the clinic immediately. I found out it was causing A-plastic enema; this is fatal. It was being taken off the market immediately.
I don’t care if it is a new shape of aspirin. I will not use anything “new” on the market untill after it has been on the market 3 to 5 years. Then I will consider it.
If you need it bad enough to die for, go for that something new.
I am NOT a guinea pig.

Which means what? Natural is always better?

No natural is not always better. But I believe that it is not necessarily a good idea to "mess" with a bodies natural rythms. If you want to, fine. My daughters are now 19 and 30. If they want the vaccine they can get it. They can also use whatever birth control method they choose. But ive seen too many "miracle" drugs be taken off the market because the only miracle is that you weren't killed by it.
