If the ladies were blackbirds
If the ladies were thrushes
I'd spend all my time in the dark chilly marshes
If the ladies were squirrels
With a high bushy tail
I'd fill my old shotgun
With rock salt and nails
I like the older style bluegrass. I have 2 favorites I call the mountain songs. The Sunny Side of the Mountain by the Osborne Brothers and The Foggy Mountain Breakdown by Flatt and Scruggs.
Cabin Fever, cool song, thank you for posting. I look forward to checking out the other links as well.
We used to always put Foggy Mountain Breakdown on the jukebox at the local bar, got a lot of dirty looks from a lot of folks, but we enjoyed it quite a bit!

Bill Monroe's "Angels Rock Me to Sleep" is one of my favorites. I also like old Jim and Jesse, can't recall the name of it right this second but one of their songs I really like has the first line "High on a mountain, what do you see? Bear tracks bear tracks looking back at me". Awesome banjo playing. I love bluegrass but unfortunately my dh doesn't.
Wagon Wheel by Old Crow Medicine Show.
When I'm old and gray, that'll be one of my happy memories; my family singing Wagon Wheel with the radio. Even my kids know the harmonies.
I thought we were the only ones who knew that song! It's such a staple in our family that DH and the kids are learning to play it on the guitar!
Just don't watch the video if you have wee ones. Let's just say it got my young teen boys into bluegrass! LOL
