Shopping trip Friday 09/02/11

I have my CVS receipts scanned, so I'll start with that. I'll try to get ambitious enough to scan receipts from other stores later. No promises but I'll try.

Except Walmart. The receipt is always long and messy, but I had over $100 in coupons, as usual, almost all food.

So, for CVS, it took me all of 10 minutes to figure up my scenario and pull the coupons. You can see from the checkout times on the receipts that 5 back-to-back transactions went quick. I was in and out of there fast. It was well worth the effort.

I had NO ECB's when I went in.

CARD #1

TRANSACTION #1

http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j2...s-9-2-11-1.jpg

2 Pantene Shampoo, FREE with Facebook coupons, nothing owed, got back $1 ECB

TRANSACTION #2

http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j2...s-9-2-11-2.jpg

1 75oz Cascade dishwasher soap, used $1 ECB from Trans #1 and a $1 coupon. I paid $2.15. No ECB's back, so time for the other card.

CARD #2

TRANSACTION #3

http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j2...s-9-2-11-3.jpg

2 Pantene Shampoo, FREE with Facebook coupons.
2 John Frieda Hair color, FREE with Facebook coupons.

Got back $1 ECB for the Pantene and $5 ECB for the John Frieda. I also got $1 ECB for the bag tag scan. This is a total of $7 ECB I received.

TRANSACTION #4

http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j2...s-9-2-11-4.jpg

2 gallons of milk, got back $2 ECB.
1 Dawn dishwashing soap, no ecb's back, it was just on sale and makes a good filler.

Used $6 ECB's from trans #3 and a 50 cent coupon on the Dawn. Paid 47 cents.

TRANSACTION #5

http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j2...s-9-2-11-5.jpg

Got 1 75oz Cascade and 3 Dawn.

Paid with the $2 ECB from the milk, and the leftover $1 ECB from trans #3.

I also used 2- $1 Dawn coupons, and 1- 50cent Dawn coupon.

I owed 50 cents.

===============================

Altogether I paid $3.12 and got:

2 gallons milk
4 Dawn
4 Pantene
2 John Frieda
2 Cascade

That's great. I'm still learning how to do the CVS deals. You're an inspiration. :)

Great job!!! I'm going to pull my coupons & flyer together & see what I can do. :)

I read on another thread that the Huggies Soft Skin wipes (yellow container), 72 ct are ringing up at 75% off so I'll check those too. :)

Excellent!

I'm curious on how the cashiers treat you? I haven't gone to CVS since moving here, but at the old one the cashiers acted like I was taking money out of their pockets when I cashed in ecbs.

Most of the CVS cashiers here are friendly. They often even congratulate me on how well I did. :D

Super deals, ladycat! Wish we still had CVS stores here.

Extra Care Bucks. Those are how you can get everything for nearly free at CVS. It's how I got several hundred dollars worth of FREE toys and small kitchen appliances last year for Christmas.

While cleaning up some of my junk a little while ago, I came across the receipt where I bought a TV for less than $10 at CVS. It's the one I'm using for my computer monitor.

Ok, thanks. I understand couponing lingo about as well as computer lingo, i.e., not at all.

TSC

Used a coupon for $10 off a $25 purchase. Didn't make *cheap* feed but every little bit helps.

MARKET STREET

The receipt is longish, and I mainly wanted to show the meat and produce, and the coupons for them, so I cropped the receipt into 2 pieces to show just those.

http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j2...t-9-2-11-a.jpg

Boneless skinless chicken breasts were $3.69/# BOGO. I picked out 3 pairs of packages that were as near the same size as possible, and at checkout I handed them over in pairs to be scanned. So it worked like this:

2 @ $9.59
$9.59 was taken off.

1 @ $9.08 and 1 @ $9.00
$9.00 was taken off.

1 @ $4.61 and 1 @ $4.43
$4.43 was taken off.

At this point, it's 12.55# boneless skinless chicken breasts for $23.28 (ah, but we're not done yet).

http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j2...t-9-2-11-b.jpg

All organic produce. (I'm pretty sure the onions were supposed to be .99 but when I pointed it out, the cashier asked the manager and she said they were .59).

12 bunches of onions, coupons adjusted down, they were free.

4 2# bags of carrots, 4 coupons for $1 so they were .99 ea. w/coupons.

No coupons for the bananas.

6 of these coupons for the 6 trays of chicken, bringing it down to $17.28 for 12.55# :

Also got antacid and honey, no coupons.

Fantastic job Ladycat!

ladycat 09/06/11 09:56 AM

Speaking of chicken, one of the local supermarkets has Pilgrim whole fryers on sale starting tomorrow for .59/#.

Guess what I'm using the rest of my Pilgrim coupons for????

lemonthyme7 09/06/11 11:04 AM

Fantastic job and it's great you could get so much chicken for that price. I rarely find meat coupons but when I do it's a good day!

Me too, that's why I get as many as possible when they are there. I almost never buy meat without coupons.

Wow...just wow!

Peacock 09/06/11 09:17 PM

My CVS won't let us use more than one card. I guess you could have two separate people doing it though.

We pass right by 3 CVS stores along our route, so if only 1 card were allowed, I could either stop at another CVS, or I would have done transactions 3, 4, and 5 on one card, in which case I would have spent 97 cents and gotten 1 less Cascade and 2 less Pantene.

nanadeb 09/06/11 09:37 PM

Wow....great job !!!
Wish we had a CVS somewhere near.
Even the feed store you saved
I am impressed here...
