Yes, I am tired of the heat & seeing the garden brown up is always sad to me. BUT we have had a few cooler nights & mornings so relief may come soon.

Most of my blackberries dried up with the 100+ temps

You want autumn already???? Not here in northern MN yet! We wait all year long for our summer and it's pretty short. I think our autumn is even shorter. I have noticed some of the leaves turning already up here.........no!!!! I realize you Texans have had a tough summer, but up here nobody is ready for cold weather yet. I'm still waiting for tomatoes in my garden!

Yep, I'm tired of 90 plus degree weather, dust and flies. I'm more than ready for the chill of fall and the first snow fall. Counting the days!

After the brutal summer Texas had, I can totally understand. We had an average summer here, except one hot stretch where we hit 107 and had 100's heat indexes for most of two weeks. The really bad heat has abated but it is still around 90 every day and the humidity is still high, so I am tired of sweating every time I go outside. Fall is my favorite season and we usually have a long and glorious fall here in the heartland. I'm ready for it!

The temp on my computer comes from Dallas, it at this minute says 108. The only good thing that has come out of this heat is no misquitoes and hardly any fire ants. All our oak trees are dropping their leaves. My crept myrtles didn't even bloom this year. We've been dumping 5 gal. of water on my Gardinia bush. The leaves had started dieing on it. I woud sure hate to loose it, it's about 8 feet tall and as big around.

Our electric bill for last month was 340.00. We had to quit using the air conditioners because we just can't afford that much. Our budget just is not large enough.

Just because it's only 37 days till autum, doesn't meen squat for Texas. We have hot weather in Sept. too.

I'm setting outside now in the shade and have a breeze blowing. Helps alot.

This was very timely, dh just came in for supper looking like an thunderstorm. Dd said, "Dad's a crab because he can't figure out how to place the hay baler on the trailer to take it to the farm. It's an old baler he got for parts for our baler that's already on the farm. The boys worked on him thru supper and finally got him over his bad mood. But heat and humidity make anyone crabby.
Come on October, then I know the humidity will be gone here.

Yes. *sigh.* I'm worn out and exhausted, and I know everyone else is, too. I'm grateful that we have had a break in the heat, but I still really look forward to winter and a new spring. Had to dig out all my squashes and pumkins today- the heat roasted them all alive. Got next to nothing off any of them. I was quite upset, nearly in tears- I make very little money on my own, but I earned every penny that I put into the garden seed, and worked in it hard all summer, only to lose it. I know it is often a speculative thing, a garden, but it's still frustrating when it doesn't work out.

This has been one nasty hot summer out here. We did get a little shower night before last. It smelled like heaven, but it didn't leave anything wet. There wasn't even anything to measure in the rain gauge! Went to Roswell yesterday and it looks like Jan. instead of Aug. Except for the black areas left from the fires along the road. I can hardly wait for Fall! It is my favorite season also. I cringe to think of what the wildlife will go through this winter. There is NOTHING out there for them to eat.
Sorry folks. God is still good and is still in control. I am hoping for a cold WET winter. We have lots of wood and my kitchen is ready for comfort cooking!

Funny I'm scared to go pick Elderberries because of the Chiggers.

I Love the Fall, my favorite season but it has cooled off here so it's not so oppressive now.
I still need some warm days & nights since my tomatoes are just starting to come in good & I want a bunch to can up. My garden is still going gang busters right now so I'll take the summer a little longer.

Fall, crisp air sitting by the fire pit & just relaxing sure sounds nice though!!

Not heat stress here....exhaustion! MIL aged 92 needed to go into residential care. She has staunchly refused until now when the doctor said she absolutely can't go home. The park where she was living has been sold (the day we moved her) and her home also has to be emptied and moved! The home is 3 1/2 hours away from us. I went down this week and wrapped and packed all the dishwear, knick knacks and small stuff. Husband is there today with a big truck bringing the contents home and either selling or having the home moved to be sold. (We've had two offers already). I have been sorting all the papers, moving her accounts up here, paying bills and cancelling and making appointments. Next Saturday is the all town yard sale and I need to sell most of the house contents.
If I did not have a large garden right at harvest stage and 8 goats..two due in 3 weeks and all the other summer requirements I could possibly not be so tired. But , whew, I feel like crawling in a hole!
"This , too, shall pass."

Oh, goodness, mabeane. Been there, done that. Yes, it will all get done. Don't look at the big pictures. Make a short list for today only.

Bless you.

Well, it is raining this morning,

I washed my car yesterday! Does it ever fail? All summer they forecasted rain, and it either went north or south of us. I was going to wash windows and mow today. Maybe tomorrow! But glad for any rain..
