I had to read before I could vote so that I could be sure you meant overalls and not an eating bib. My dh doesn't have any but I love them! I used to have a pair of short overalls that I loved to wear and my son (toddler) has several pairs of overalls. They are a pain when it comes time for a bathroom break and make a lot of noise in the wash but I think they're great.

@Stamphappy I have the same problem. I swear I am just a klutz with food! I've started wearing my kitchen apron to the table. We've actually switched to all covered cups/mugs because of numerous spills. It's weird cause I'm not that super klutzy about other things and I do have table manners but I don't think I own a shirt that doesn't have a stain on it from dropping food or spilling tea!

I'm planning on making more aprons with pockets and rings (think toolbelt) for wearing out around our property. That way my shirt will be protected and I'll have places to put eggs and something to hook small tools on.

I love 'em! I used to wear them at work every day, but then I moved up to 'management', and they weren't considered appropriate. I still wear them off the job as long as it isn't too hot out. I'm not sure how my wife feels about them, other than she knows I probably won't have too many other women chasing me!

LOL, fordy... I think you just invented a new word, and I like it a lot better than "discombobulation"

I don't wear them, as I find can't find a pair that fits comfortably on my too-plump and bumpy body.

I've heard them called bibs, overalls, biballs, coverall, oshkoshes.

Easy on, easy off. I usually wear shorts under my bibs. I come in, pop one strap, slip the bibs off and hang them up by the door. Them I'm clean enough to sit on the easy chair and rest w/o worrying about getting it dirty. When I'm ready to go back to work I slip them on and all my stuff is there (see above about pockets.
I answered for my husband. He wears bibs almost every day. He's actually wearing them right now b/c he's fixing my car that blew a head gasket. He's a machinist (works on a mini mill, lathe, etc) and it keeps his clothes from getting filthy. He also loves the pockets, he keeps so much stuff in them. haha He has a whole pile that he keeps on his side table that goes in his bibs every day. He also wears a pair of shorts underneath for the same reason that Watcher does. He found three pairs of Roebucks brand bibs at Goodwill. They are really nice. He rotates which ones he wears, and they go into a different laundry basket than the regular clothes and get washed separately also.

I haven't worn bibs since I was a baby, but I think I want to try a pair.

On this day...He decided he was going to help me out with the wash.
So he washed some of his bibs in the wringer washer outside and hung them up to dry.
Dont know what the pitch fork was about..You'll have to ask him...lol

Had to add picture below...dont know why it didnt post for me

Dear grandson is teething something awful and currently requires two at a time..

Oh! Those bibs. Overalls (or, "over-halls" my Papa John used to say). Love 'em. Bought some used for the elder grandbaby, too. Keeps her Mom happy when I send her home. All the mud stays at my house .

A year and a half ago an old boy up the road died. He was near 80. No one could recall ever seeing him wear anything but a pair of bibs with no shirt. That's what they dressed him in for his funeral. Also pulled his coffin with entire family riding on the wagon with an old John Deer to the cemetery.

I like my bibs a lot...but they are a bit of a pain for going to the bathroom. I especially like them if I'm going to eat a lot..more room! I think they look "hot" on a good looking man. And yes...I do remember the tube top and bibs style years ago..I think it was more than 20 years ago though lol!!

I personally don't like to wear bibs. They are uncomfortable, and like the others mentioned, there's the wedgie and bathroom issues.

Bibs look good on the male sex only (sorry, ladies!), and they must belong to one of 3 groups:
Babies under the age of 3 (sooooo cute)
Old men
Guys with big, muscular, tan arms (must be worn without a shirt underneath) THIS IS HOT!!!

I LOVE them cause they are so comfy I love baggy and with bibs you can get away with it! I have even made them into skirts! One of my clown costumes is a bib skirt that I have done some work with that the back rips off(I wear funny bloomers!) and a hanky that is about 4 feet long! My hubby just shakes his head when I find a set, and my DD is a new convert she just bought a pair at Sally Ann's today!!LOL.

I just remembered my mum made me 2 sets when I was about 9-10, one was corderoy the other was a wicked denim pattern!

I couldn't vote because none of the answers fit. I don't wear them because I don't have any. As soon as I am able to move to a country place, I will get some. They are all my father wore his whole working life as a machinist.

Thumbs up

I personally LOVE them! Not the really ratty, filthy, one strap hangin down kind, but I've always had a thing for them. My grandpa ALWAYS wore them, & I adored him, so maybe that's where my love of them stems from. I think it also depends on the guy, some guys look great in them, and little boys look so adorable in them too.
