homebirth vs. hospital with midwife

Just as an FYI, a lot of midwife run hospital/birth centers don't do routine IVs/BPs, etc. I never had either with DD... And she stayed in my room the entire time (though the nurses did change her drawers for me, thank heaven! I hate those meconium dipes!)

I have two children, now 12 and 13. My oldest was a hospital birth and my youngest was born at home. There is no question in my mind that the home birth was better by far. That is simply my opinion based on experience. There are plenty of things to consider but I think YOU, your family and your midwife, collectively, are the only ones who should make the decision about whether it is a good idea to have a homebirth. I would certainly caution you against taking advise from people who have never had/attended a homebirth, however. They have no point of reference. Best of luck and congrats!
