Is any company still making Hoosier cabinets or reproductions of them? Seems most of us homesteaders are craving one!

Hi all. Great pictures, CC, I love watching your project. I'm very impressed and jealous that I don't have the same talents/skills to do this kind of thing.

I also have the exact same Hoosier cabinet. I was very fortunate that a good friend found it for me under someone's back porch and was able to get for me. I am still looking for the attachment that goes under the flour bin but otherwise it is good shape (after my Amish friend fixed it up) Well worth it too. Take care, Reb

Oh and thank you Mickey for the link.

My best friend GAVE ME her old Sellers cabinet when she got her divorce. She had no place for it in her new house. I love old things and wouldn't take anything for it. Mine doesn't have a tambour, it has a solid wood one piece door that lifts up and in on hinges. Mines painted red for my color crazy period lol but thinking of going back to its original spring green. You did good! Yours is a beauty!

Cc - I have one similar to yours sitting in our guest house. When I re-do the kitchen (about half-way down on the endless to-do list), I"m going to refinish it. It has also been painted white with several coats of paint. I really appreciate the pic of the original decal. Mine has a bread drawer also, but the tin is rusted thru at the bottom. I'm hoping DH can have the guys in the metal shop at his work fix it, but if not, do you have a link for where you can get hardware, etc?

Also, if you ever make it out to the NE area of the state, drop me a PM. I know of a great antique place close. It's off the beaten path enough that you should call first!

moldy, mickey has a link to kennedy hardware higher up in this thread. They have lots of parts for the cabinets.

I'd love to go antiquing in your area. My dh grew up around Topeka, so we do get back once in a great while.

That old cabin is going to be gorgeous & so will your new hoosier cabinet.

I also love the hoosier cabinets & looked along time to find just the one I wanted for my kitchen. It has the original flour sifter still intact & working order & also the potato/bread drawer still good. The enamil top is an off white color trimmed in green.
I did take the tambour door out of mine though & that's where my microwave sets.

Do you have any pics of it? I don't think I've seen one with off white and green enamel. It sounds lovely.

Old Cabin Update (Pics) - Countryside Families

Here's my hoosier cabinet Chalk Creek. I bought mine at an antiques store in Bay City, Michigan about 5 years ago.

That is stunning. Was it in that condition when you bought it? I love that cream and green.

Yes, that's exactly how it was when I bought it. It works for my kitchen. Some folks buy antiques & resell them & some like us buy them because we like them & want to use them.

I just love your cabin Chalk Creek. I know it's got to be a blast thinking up ways you want to decorate it. My parents have a cabin, been going there as long as I can remember. I'll take pictures of it next time I go up. My parents are the biggest garage sale freaks, the bargains they get-amazing. Anyway, it's my favorite thing to daydream about-moving up there. Here's my Hoosier, a anniversary gift from dh.
