MEAT AND PRODUCE COUPONS
I was going to try to scan ALL my meat and produce coupons, but too big of a job. Dig them out of the files, scan, crop, resize, etc. Too much time for all of it, but I think these are enough to give the idea.
First of all, let me remind everyone that sources of coupons are in posts #72 and #73 above on this page, although that's an incomplete list and needs more details, but it's a good start.
In post #73 above is a description of winetags. Winetags are an advertising gimmick by the beer, wine, and liquor industries to promote their brands. But most times you are NOT obligated to buy the alcohol to get the meat or produce. Sometimes they are brand specific, like this:
But very often they will be for ANY beef, or pork, or chicken, or whatever.
Winetags for produce may be as specific as this one requiring avocados from Mexico:
(small print lets you get other avocados when Mexican ones not available, so I get USA avocados with these coupons)
But often for ANY carrots, or potatoes, or apples, or bananas, or whatever else.
Organic coupons are easy. Just sign up at the company websites and you'll get buried in them. Also watch for tearpads, peelies, etc.
I don't use all of the organic ones. Sometimes I can use them on markdown meat and get a good price.
The Earthbound ones are $1 off one product, $1 off 2 products, and 75 cents off 1 product. Very often I can use them to get organic produce for the same price or cheaper than the conventional counterpart.
Also often, I am able to use organic produce coupons (or ANY produce) on loose organic produce. If the coupon is off $1's worth (the most common amount), I weigh it out into $1 or a little more increments.
Fresh Express coupons are usually $1 off one, or $2 off 2.
It goes on sale so frequently for $1 a bag that I very often get it free.
If Fresh Express isn't on sale, there are usually bags of Dole available for $1.50 or $1.59, and I can use $1 off 1 Dole coupons to get it for 50 or 59 cents a bag, or the below for a buck a bag.
The great thing about Dole and Fresh Express salads is that there are a constant stream of coupons for them, so you can always buy them with coupons.
I don't have any to show, because I use them up so quick, but periodically in the inserts you'll get coupons for branded fresh chicken. The brands vary according to your region. In my region they are usually for Tyson. They are $1 off ANY Tyson chicken. So when they come out, I get a bunch of them, then hang on for a couple weeks, because a couple weeks after the coupon comes out, Tyson sales are EVERYWHERE. Then I can get whole chicken fryers at rock bottom price, using $1 coupons on top of that low price. And also get things like small trays of thighs or legs for almost free by combining the sale with the coupons.
Although the chicken brands vary around the country, the coupon/sale scenario works just about the same everywhere (and if you can get double coupons, you've got it MADE. Hit the right sale and fill the freezer with FREE chicken).
Honeysuckle White turkey coupons come out very frequently. I use those on mark down packages of turkey parts and get it super cheap.
Ground turkey brands vary a little around the country, but periodically coupons come out just before the great sales on that brand, and I can get some mighty cheap ground turkey.
You can get home mailers for whatever brand of fresh beef and pork is in your area. My favorite supermarket carries Farmland brand pork, which I like because they have a version that's uninjected. Just pure meat, no "solution" added. I got on Farmland's mailing list, and they send me a lot of coupons:
I use those on sales and markdowns and get CHEAP pork. You can even get it free, like when the sausage chubs go on sale for 99 cents.
Ok, I could start explaining how to stack deals/coupons to get savings on meat and produce, but honestly, that would have to be a separate "lesson". It's a little complicated.
But for now, a few more pics for your viewing pleasure.
<well, shoot, only 8 images allowed in one post. I'll add the 9th to the next post.>
Oops, only the 1 pic left. Hope I didn't leave any out or duplicate any.
