Update As Of May 17

Just spoke with Murray's Mom. He is in the hospital and at this point they don't know exactly what is going on. He will have more tests tomorrow and his Mom will keep me informed so I can pass on any updates.

I told her that many people across the US are praying for Murray. If anybody wants to send him a card or note, please PM me for his full name and address.

Thanks for letting us know, Dutchie. Sometimes I think we should all have to list a relative with the mods for check ups like this.

Thank you all very much for your prayers and well wishes. I know they have helped. I did go to the ER first thing on Friday. They weren't able to do a CT scan on Friday to check for clots because the machine wasn't working. So, I had to spend the weekend in the hospital on blood thinners just in case I had blood clots. I was able to have another type of test done this morning and was grateful to find out that I don't have blood clots. They aren't sure exactly what caused the problem but they suspect it was some kind of 'flue like' bug. I started feeling much better by Saturday morning.

I was able to come home this afternoon. I'm under orders to take things very slowly and not over-exert myself for a while. That's okay. Things will still get done. They'll just get done slower for a while. At least I don't have to worry about losing any tender garden plants to the frost we're supposed to have tonight.

Thank you all again for your prayers and concern. I truely appreciate them.

Hard-headed yankee...yup, guilty as charged. Some of us yankees have to be hard-headed though to get along so well with our equally hard-headed friends from Texas.

Thank you for your concern. I am very blessed to have so many caring friends.

I'm glad to hear from you. I had to drive into the city (again!!!) today, and I didn't have time to check in before now -- I wondered about you all the way home. Glad to hear it was "just" the flu -- now take care of that flu and yourself!!

How wonderful to know you're recovering and that there was nothing anymore serious than a "flu like bug". Hmmmmmmmm... Why does that phrase make the hair on the back of my neck stand on end?

It was a "flu like bug" that sent me into acute congestive heart failure a decade ago. Its amazing how we take "a flu like bug" so lightly and even downplay the catastrophic even fatal potential for such a thing.

I'm so glad you are better, Murray. Take it easy and enjoy a full recovery. Its wonderful to have you back -even if you are a hard-headed ol' yankee!

This hard-headed ol' yankee is sure glad to be back. It seems like "flu like bug" is what they tell you when they don't really know what else to say. Sorry about the gray hairs.

So glad to see you are back and getting better. The "clots" talk scared me. DH lost his best friend at age 35 to that. Praying you are back to 100% soon.
