gina kay, from what I understand, burning your trash is the worst thing you can do with your trash as far and enviromental damage goes. We usually burn a trash pile twice a year, but I told hubby that has to stop...especially if there are plastics in the pile (and there is, I checked).

We even recycle our USED cat litter...it goes into the potholes in our driveway.

i chop onions, flash freeze them, put them in a canning jar, then vac seal it, then put in the freezer. Seems to work pretty well and no freezer burn so far, altho I only have it in the freezer a month or two. If I had a whole year/seasons worth of produce and it took 6 months to use, it might have a problem. also, here in humid tx, each time i open it to get some out, seems to create a little more frost inside.

No I didn't know it was a petro-product, that's good to know, thanks. I'm trying to cut down on the number of products I use too, though.
