I wear Ariat paddock boots (lace-ups). My last pair lasted for 4 years. They were still functional when I gave them to a friend, just had a small hole where water got in.

My husband wears Timberland Pros (another size 13! These farmboys sure grow big and strong.). He gets a new pair about once a year. The last pair he bought started to fall apart almost immediately, which was shocking because they've always held up well. We contacted the company, and they were WONDERFUL. They had us send the boots back (I'm pretty sure they paid postage), and sent him a brand new pair, which are just fine. I don't like to have my ankles restricted (and I'm a tap dancer, so they're so darn strong they don't need extra support), so I buy work shoes (like a mans workboot, only lower cut). It's hard to find women's, so at the moment I'm wearing a K-mart pair thats three years old. I need new ones desperately!

I know a bit about boots and I've never heard of some of the brands others have mentioned: Vanderbuilts, Matterhorns, Dr. Martins, etc.
I have several pairs of boots all with a specific purpose. Red Wing Irish setters for bird hunting and hiking, Red Wing steel toe for firewood cutting, insulated Rocky boots for snowmobiling and icefishing, an a lighter pair of Red Wing winter boots for running around in.
I do not own tennis shoes or sandals and have only one pair of dress shoes. My everyday footwear is a pair of Cabela hunting boots. I wear these everyday to work and around town....day in and day out I like these boots so much that I'm on my third pair now. I highly recommend them. Them come in three different heights.

Bluesky, are these the same boots as your husbands?

I have a pair of these I wear when it's really, really cold out. They're a bit too big (my son outgrew them), but they're the warmest boots I've found in years.

The rest of the time I wear Timberland workboots.

I used to buy Vasque girlie boots back when my feet were super narrow. They've widened out a bit to almost normal, now. I still keep a pair of Vasque for hiking or when I'm going to be chainsawing, etc.
At a local sports/outdoor chain, I found some cheap boots by Brazos. I think they're made in Russia. About $20 or so. The problem with them is that my feet really start to hurt if I wear them for more than 4 hours.
I usually wear old running shoes for most chores and just hose them off and leave them to dry.

I bought redwings for years, but the last 2 pair I bought wouldnt hold up, and they wouldnt do anything about it. Their warranty isnt long enough for the price that they cost.
I bought a pair of wolverine boots a couple years ago, and they have outlasted any redwings I have ever owned.
I dont mind paying $150 for boots if they hold up.

I recently bought a pair of desert combat Converse® Side-zip Tactical Boots and they are becoming my favorite. They are without a doubt the most comfortable boot I have ever worn and the side zip on and off is great.

Wolverene. durashock steel toe 8 inch boots. They are the best bang for my money. I get over a year with care out of a pair, I am on my feet most of the day and climb towers. Got a friend that wears $25.00 boots and is always complaining about his back. I gave him a pair of my used boots to try. Within a few days he was telling me how good he felt. Good work boots keep you healthy.:banana02:

I have a pair of Thorogood steel toe loggers. When I was shopping for my boots, it came down to this pair and a pair of Carolinas. When I noticed the Thorogood boots are made in the USA I decided to go with them and support the local folks.
I LOVE them. I was so happy with my boots that I emailed the company to tell them how much I liked them. They sent me a reply saying that they printed out my email and hung it up in the factory where the workers could see it.

Hey Tony, it's a bit sad, but you can almost pull off those lace-ups! What I wanna know is... how do you keep all that laceing from hanging up on the instrument panel at work?

P.S. The OP is a thread thief and a trouble maker, also this thread smells worse than a dead Hippo laying in the African sun for two weeks. She's hogging my footwear glory and she has no remorse. My boot thread was all but destroyed by this Google-Eyed girl, and you to are all sucked into her whirlwind of goofyness...I warned you all...now carry on.
