When the County Assessor stops you as you pull out onto the main blacktop road from the gravel private road, asking where so and so live - because there are no street numbers for the houses up here.
I am in the flight path of the instrument landing system for the local regional commerical airport, so I do have a turboprop plane go over about once an hour. Otherwise, no noises but nature up here. Well today I heard several generators running, due to the snow and the resulting commerical power outage.
