Read you post...then read your signature/quite message.

Yes I did read my signature. It's actually an old one I simply forgot to erase.

However in the world of murder, drug addiction, war, rape and the like I think a little 3rd grade fart humor does not make me immoral or a bad person.

Passing judgment on something juvenile would have me question myself.

Maybe it's just me but it seems you connect/imply my fart joke with the issue my son has. If I am correct you are presumptuous and not a nice person who's opinion I would value anyway.

Thanks rose.

I changed it.

What's the fun in being silly in a world full of stern looks?

I homeschool and spend a lot of time with a 13 year old. What can I say? I humor him and allow him to carry on once in awhile. It also seems to have rubbed off on me.

No offense to the guys but from my personal experience the boys fart jokes go on well into adult life when ladies are not present. I have been accidental witness many times.

I would rather laugh than be offended, but I do not like to offend others in turn. Hard balancing act to be true to oneself even if silly when trying to be socially acceptable.

We moved back in April and have yet to hook up to dishnetwork. We do have an antenna so we get the 4 basic channels and pbs, that's it! We do not miss it, my kids play outside, read, entertain themselves for the most part. They do play on their computer once in a while (zoo tycoon or pet vet, nothing violent) and they have to ask permission and we usually put a 20 minute time limit on it. I think this has had a real calming influence on my dd's. Kids need to be more active, I think that is why adhd is being diagnosed more often, many of these kids may just need to get outside and burn off some energy instead of sitting in front of t.v. or video games. That's just my opinion, no scientific data to back it up! I am also of the opinion that children (and adults) are becoming desensitized to the violence, sex, immorality that we see on t.v/movies/video games. It may not be the root of all evil but it certainly is not healthy! I am all for trusting your kids and allowing them to make some decisions, but you also must be a parent and set guidelines children are not supposed to parent themselves.

For games in this house...be it hubby or son... if it has any kind of blood in it...its not allowed in this house. My son has a Wii,, and has golf, baseball, sonic the hedge hog and those kind of games. So even when he gets to game,,, with the Wii..he is just not sitting still.

hintonlady, it is hard to find right balance and what will work for one family will not work for another. I hope you are able to find a balance for your family.

Farting is funny around my house too, I like the sillyness, it's better than being so serious all the time! You should not have changed it imo.

Well we have never had cable and stopped watching broadcast tv yrs ago. My dh finally gave up sports because the commercials we SO bad.

We don't have a play station or the like... never have.

We do have some computer games.... American Farmer, Zoo Tycoon, Where in Time is Carmen San Diego, Oregon Trail, and the like. We limit those.

You are right the moral decay is astounding... we are like frogs in water the water just gets hotter the longer you stay in, but you do not notice.
