I for one am a grateful shopper when Moms or Dads (or both) discipline their children while in the store..i.e.
ever get hit by someone's rampaging 6 year old..whose carry a can of "something" and running through the store? I have..had bruises for a week.
ever have someone's kids throw stuff into your buggy..? yep..I have.
my favorite, the child who lays down in the middle of the aisle, kicking and screaming because he/she "wants" something and the parent says no..ever had that happen to you? I have..
kids are kids are kids..and they are gonna have bad days..but it is nice to know there are parents out there that (a) have a sense of humor, (b) believe in discipline and take appropriate steps to corral their child, and (c) have the guts to just leave when all else fails..lol..
PS - I had twins. very devious little girls who could distract me, while one put something in my buggy (or someone else's!!), who could manage to slither out of the buggy seat like a limp noodle and somehow end up talking to a stranger at the end of the aisle giving me a heart attack. Or the son who, ONCE, layed down in the middle of the store at 7 eleven type convenience store and pitched an earth shattering temper tantrum at age 5 because I said "no" to a request for candy. Patrons were not amused..I was wondering where my child went..obviously the one kicking and screaming on the floor wasn't mine. I did decide to instill the "think twice" theory into said child..snatched him right up and swatted his backside and walked out of the store..to a great deal of applause from the patrons there. Never had another tantrum out of that one.
great story and glad she made a few bucks on the cards..I can relate and I only had 3 to take to the store at once.
