That is cool! I really like Les Stroud. Any idea when these will be airing on Discovery?

Kmac15 08/09/07 07:02 PM

MicheleMomof4 08/09/07 07:12 PM

Corky 08/09/07 08:02 PM

I saw every one of those clips and now I would like to see the show but I guess we don't get it here.
I looked all over the guide and did not see it. BUMMER!

Corky 08/09/07 08:05 PM

one comment though.
There is no way that man is debt free.
So far this little adventure has cost him a mint!

foxfiredidit 08/09/07 08:17 PM

Thanks..........and congratulations!!

lorian 08/09/07 09:15 PM

Can you buy these from anywhere?
Anyone have tapes, dvd's they would share?

Ravenlost 08/09/07 09:21 PM

You're welcome. I was surprised to stumble on them as well. Not sure when it comes on TV.

YounGrey 08/09/07 09:31 PM

Yeah, I'm not familiar with this show. I only have basic basic cable. :( very cool. Wonder if its on netflix

YounGrey 08/09/07 09:56 PM

Was this just a special, not a series?

Lizza 08/09/07 10:08 PM

I checked netflix and they don't have it yet....bummer, it's all I have.

NicoleandBrian 08/09/07 11:07 PM

I just found this on the Les Stroud site:

"To all our U.S.A. friends, a lot of you have been asking when "Off The Grid with Les Stroud" will be airing in the United States, well we are working on it and be assured that we will let you know as soon as it is available.."

Cheryl in SD 08/09/07 11:20 PM

The kids and I just finished it. That is exactly what we want to do! Now to get this place sold and find our land! But we have one question. Wouldn't it have been smarter to do the demolition in the fall, button everything up for winter & do the building in the spring? Or did they try in the winter for tv effect?

Hears The Water 08/10/07 12:22 AM

I am curious about two things after watching all ten of those, which btw, I really enjoyed. Did any of y'all shake your heads and grin when he let the 'coons loose? And why was he so adament about not using sheetrock? Is it environmentally unfriendly?
God bless you and yours
Deb

Cheryl in SD 08/10/07 12:45 AM

My kids thought the racoon thing was funny, too! One said that he would have to watch his chickens if he let them loose, another wondered why he didn't get livestock living out there.

We wondered about the sheetrock thing, too.

MicheleMomof4 08/10/07 03:01 AM

And I don't know how enviromentally friendly it was to run a generator filled gas for as long as he did. LOL But never the less, I loved it. Even the 'coons. :)
God Bless,
Michele

Shepherd 08/10/07 03:23 PM

I'm really enjoying this, but am only up to #4 so far.

I also wondered about the sheetrock; I guess I assumed maybe they needed a large load and just couldn't get a delivery to them. But why not take a load at at time with the pickup?

Corky 08/10/07 03:36 PM

He said sheetrock would not survive the trip up!

Corky 08/10/07 03:37 PM

I laughed at his cabin because the inside is just like my cabin.

danoon 08/10/07 05:21 PM

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.. I wanted this video for my birthday but didn't get it.
Now this is a present ! Just for this, Ravenlost, you don't have to get me anything for Christmas !!!

Ravenlost 08/10/07 05:32 PM

LOL...you're very welcome danoon. Whew...that's one gift down.

BTW, Survivorman comes on tonight (Friday) at 8 p.m. (central) on the Discovery Channel. The 2007 season started last night, but it was a rerun!

Corky 08/10/07 05:32 PM

I really liked seeing the clips but...
He is in no way living the survivor life.
He isn't trying to.
He just wants to live off grid. He owns every piece of equipment one can get and heck, he had lumber brought in by helicopter.
They still go out to work and talked about bring groceries in a little at a time in the winter.
They will need to rethink that though and stock up some. But now that they will be feeding a bunch of raiding coons they better come up with some tight storage.

Ravenlost 08/10/07 05:34 PM

Corky...guess you haven't seen the series? He is dropped off in rough territory with limited tools for seven days. He has to film himself and walk out of the place.

Corky 08/10/07 05:36 PM

NOPE! I live in the good old USA and don't get the program.

I thought it was about their place they are building to live on.

It is great that he has the money and wants to do that. The kids will have good memories.

Ravenlost 08/10/07 06:15 PM

Ummm...I live in the good ole USA too.

largentdepoche 08/10/07 07:30 PM

Thanks for this! :)

Kat

Corky 08/10/07 08:53 PM

Well, someone said we couldn't get it in the US but I just watched it.
It was on the discovery chanel at 8 oclock and........

Did I ever mention that I am unreasonably terrified of scorpions?

Well..... I AM!!!!!

Ravenlost 08/10/07 09:12 PM

Please tell me he didn't eat scorpions! (I haven't watched it yet.)

Corky 08/10/07 09:15 PM

If you haven't watched it yet I can't tell you anything.

I hate it when someone spoils a show for me.

enjoy!

krondor2 08/11/07 07:14 AM

les's show is 100 times better than that other guy's show Man vs Wild.

danoon 08/11/07 08:24 AM

They've been showing a lot of last season lately. They are advertising the new season starts the 15th. I really liked his "Off the Grid". It was shown on Canadian tv but I guess not down here yet.

sammi_9 08/27/07 09:24 PM

i just tried to look at these and they have been removed.

Karen 08/27/07 09:50 PM

HaysFarm 08/27/07 10:13 PM
