We had a similar situation a couple of years ago. A banana spider decided to make her home on the outside of our sliding glass door. We watcherdher for days as she built an amazing web that stretched from side to side of this large window. Our dining room table was right infront of this window so we could track any progress as we ate or sat. This went on for weeks. All the while our house was up for sale. The real estate agent begged us to remove the spider and her web. We had a lot of people viewing our home and they all saw this fabulous wonder of nature when they first walked in. Yes, most didn't appreciate it like we did. We didn't sell the house then, but we sure enjoyed watching this event unfold. One night we had a terrible storm and the winds carried our visitor away.

I am thankful we didn't have the babies to deal with like you. I'm not sure what we would have done. I'm thinking you are a bit more generous than we might have been.

She's doing you a favor catching all those bugs and the babies will move on. We have egg sacs hatch on our house all the time and usually only a couple of offspring stick around the house.

I also get many that drift in on the wind too which is fine. They do us a big favor. I just wish they would stop hiding in my clothespins I have on the line.
If I leave the clothespins on the line I've learned to flick them first before I try to use them.

(I suspect I just made a few of you put 'check clothespins for spiders' on your mental no-spider-left-alive checklist)

Hey, I'll trade you your spider for my 3 ft long black snake who thinks it owns the house I thought I bought!

I think they would be an attractive garnish for rice, but only if you toast them first.

Do you ever hear some real light skittering type noises at night? Probably nothing. Oh, I was going to advise you not to use any night lites as they are likely to attract little flying insects closer to ya'll, and with so many new mouths to feed...

we had a wonderfully huge spider outside our kitchen window last summer....the window is like 10 ft off the ground from the outside....and is a single pane window that cant open.....

with that in mind, I occasionally left the light on above the sink to purposely attract the bug that would feed this darling spider!!!!

it eventually left/died....about 3 weeks I got to enjoy it!

Rachel

BTW spider in the house is a dead spider!

Evil. Pure, concentrated evil.

I get to sleep on my couch tonight because of a spider and her babies. Tomorrow I get to strip & clean my room to get rid of them. Not feeling very charitable towards the critters right now.

Itch, itch.

Being another having had to deal with a NASTY spider bite I would encourage her to disappear.
