I pay most of my bills online now. Just yesterday, I set up my account with Southeast Toyota to make my truck payment online every month. Boy was I shocked to find out they charge 9.95 a month for this service!!! I sent them a nasty e-mail telling them what I thought about the service charge and will from here on out be mailing my payment! I have never had a charge to pay online unless it was a rush payment to be made on the due date. I guess I need to go buy some of the penny stamps to go with my 39 cent ones now.

I just dont trust paying anything online yet.
What if my computer fizzles?
What about a power failure?
I'll keep to the snail mail.

About the only time I write a check now is when I buy something from an individual. All of my bills are either auto-pay or paid on line - I love being able to go on-line in the middle of the night and pay my bills, know it's done, and no late fees. I use the debit card at the grocery store, the charge card at the feed store, etc, and do an on-line payment for the charge card balance once a month. My income checks are all direct deposit, so all I have to do is make sure I have the money transfered into checking before the bills are due - and I have overdraft protection in case I forget to do that. Saves me money there - no fees for the overdraft protection. I think I've written maybe 10 checks in the last year, mostly for livestock!
