The dreaded midnight phone call...

My daughter whom I just put in the maternity home fell tonight getting out of the shower. She fell flat on her 6.5 month pregnant belly. This is all I know other than she's in pain.
Please pray for her and the baby...

calliemoonbeam 02/21/14 03:38 AM

Praying for health for her and the baby and peace for you. {{{hugs}}}

Hopefully, everything will be all right. I passed out in the shower when I was about six months along and fell flat on my belly and face on a concrete floor. I broke my nose, and my belly was really sore for a while, but I went on to deliver a healthy, bouncing 10-1/2 baby boy! :)

Twp.Tom 02/21/14 06:16 AM

I pray for that unborn child, and your Daughter, and you-I hope the baby is unharmed.

davel745 02/21/14 06:18 AM

Bajiay if it wasn't for bad luck you wouldn't have any luck at all. I hope you and your family are all right. take care

roadless 02/21/14 06:53 AM

Praying for your daughter and grandchild.
My pregnant daughter also fell last week, she slipped on the ice. All is well with them both.
Women's bodies are so wonderfully designed for protection of little ones.

bajiay 02/21/14 06:55 AM

dave-don't I know it!

Update: She just called. It took three shots to stop her contractions but they have sent her home. Baby is ok.
Thanks for the prayers.

Tommyice 02/21/14 07:15 AM

Bajiay both are strong I'm sure--they're from you after all!

bajiay 02/21/14 07:24 AM

Thanks Tommy-
I sure don't feel it. :)

cindilu 02/21/14 07:50 AM

Sure glad your grand baby is okay, that was a scare for sure.

When I was due in 8 weeks with my first child I cracked three ribs. That was worst pain then child birth.

Second child I was 5 months pregnant and went down hill skiing. Almost went water skiing 8 months pregnant but got to chicken.

Our bodies are wonderfully made and also resilient. Thanks heavens for that or we would be in a lot more trouble then we already are.

Looking forward to seeing pictures of your new grandbaby, how exciting is that???

CajunSunshine 02/21/14 09:54 AM

I'm so glad all's well! Phew, all this excitement day after day...you probably cherish any quiet days you can get.

Here's praying things quiet down so much, you actually get bored! :bored::boring:

What a relief to know all is well. Hang in there lady - being a grand parent is a beautiful thing!

Add me to the list of pregnant woman who have fallen. I had washed my foot while showering and didn't rinse it off before putting weight on it. Down I went. Scared me so badly. Dh who was sound asleep at the other end of the house heard me go down.

Pray all is well for your dd and baby

Buffy in Dallas 02/23/14 02:15 AM

I fell when I was 8 months along and landed flat on my bottom. Ok, I didn't fall. Hubby pushed me and knocked me down. But the baby was fine.
I'm glad your daughter and little one are ok.

Dutchie 02/23/14 08:56 AM

What is a maternity home?

A place where expectant mothers without partners can go and stay during their pregnancy and get support, medical care and counseling on how to be a single parent.

Update:
She's been in labor twice now due to the fall. Baby seems fine but she is dilated at a two. Doc said daughter has strained her muscles in belly and lower back and she will probably keep going into labor. She's close to being on bed rest. Feels fine otherwise.

On a side note:
On Thursday, daughter had a Therapy Assessment meeting involving all of those involved with her care at the home, and daughter and I. It was very productive. After the meeting when we went back to daughter's room, she told me "Thank You" for taking her there. She said she realizes how much they can help her and all she can learn. I ABOUT DROPPED RIGHT THERE~ I thought it would be months before I heard anything similar to that, IF I ever did. wow. :)

SimplerTimez 03/01/14 08:12 PM

bajiay, it is so good to see this update - I'm very happy for you :)

Update further:
Daughter just lost her mucous plug. On the way to Great Falls. Please pray for daughter and baby. That he will live...
Also that I can make it safe in this crappy weather. :(

Raeven 03/01/14 10:38 PM

Bajiay, where do you live? I'm familiar with that area -- are you traveling far to get to GF? You have all my best wishes for an uneventful birth and a healthy outcome for both your daughter and her baby!

arcticow 03/01/14 10:39 PM

Prayers all around.

cfuhrer 03/01/14 11:07 PM

Prayers for eveyone. I know how scary an early labor can be.

bajiay 03/01/14 11:10 PM

I just checked road conditions and they are absolutely horrible. Called sheriff even. I don't know what to do...

bajiay 03/01/14 11:11 PM

I live between Bozeman and Billings

Raeven 03/01/14 11:16 PM

And GREAT FALLS is your nearest hospital? I'd call her doc and ask what he suggests. It's no good trying to travel to GF if you can't GET to GF... maybe there is a closer facility for her?

bajiay 03/01/14 11:17 PM

Shes in the home in Helena. The are transferring her to Great Falls. I'm at home.

Raeven 03/01/14 11:19 PM

Oh, I'm sorry -- I misunderstood. Even so, that's quite a haul. I know how bad it can get up there. Personally, I wouldn't attempt it until it is safe... although I am sure that is an awful decision to have to make. :( But better that than to not make it at all..??

Terri in WV 03/01/14 11:21 PM

I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

They can do amazing things for premies these days. My oldest boy was born at 30 weeks and you'd never know it to look at him now.

bajiay 03/01/14 11:27 PM

Yeah...there's no way I can make it up there tonight....
Just talked to her...she's scared. They are transferring her to Great Falls for safety's sake and observation. Doc isn't there yet to tell me if she's in actual labor yet. :(

bajiay 03/01/14 11:27 PM

I feel like puking...

Raeven 03/01/14 11:31 PM

I have triplet grand-nieces who were born more premature than your daughter's child. They are all doing fine and keeping everyone on their toes today. Terri is right -- it's amazing what can be done for them now. Keep hold of that, if you can. Hugs to you.

bajiay 03/01/14 11:58 PM

Thanks

bajiay 03/02/14 01:13 PM

Update:
She's under observation. On complete bed rest now. Dilated to a three. Stopped the labor again. Sending her back to the home for time being....Doc thinks she can hold it off a few more weeks. Hope so.

I NEED CHOCOLATE!!!!!!

BlueRose 03/02/14 01:21 PM

I was put on bed rest the last 2 1/2 months. Got lots of stuff read and done alot of knitting and crocheting. I hope they have her labor under control now. Be safe and my prayers are with all 3 of you.

Echoesechos 03/02/14 08:30 PM

HUGS AND prayers. Glad they stopped the contractions.

Raeven 03/02/14 08:42 PM

Good news, bajiay. Glad it's going better. Stressful for you all, though -- virtual chocolate coming your way!

SimplerTimez 03/02/14 09:00 PM
