Three wheeler plans??

Any body know where any are located? I am thinking of something about twice as sturdy as an adult tricycle, large enough to put on the road legally, but with a small (10 hp?) engine. Something big enought to go get critter feed bags or run to the grocery store on a pint of fuel.

Converting a shaft drive motorcycle seems the easy way to go, it would not be too hard to place a light weight car rear member into a frame, the use would include hauling things not practical for a two wheeler. Add a couple of leaf springs and a cargo box with lid and tie downs on the lid top, ect.

Sure sounds like you're describing a golf cart or utility cart. Cushman use to make three wheel, 2 cylinder, single seat delivery vehicles. I believe they were and still are road legal. A quick google search will turn up lots of Cushmans - very neat actually. I bet someone is going to make a ton of money producing new small vehicles like the Cushman.

1969 Cushman Delivery

cheers,

So far, so good; but what I am thinking of would be more like a 3 wheeled motorcycle, open to the air, a bit like the Harley Servicar of past days.

Moo, I may have seen exactly what you are talking about today - a shop built trike, that was road legal. Bear in mind I'm not mechanical, but it looked like a motorcycle w/ the rear axle, seat , etc shop made or modified. It was local so I'm gonna try to locate it and the builder when dh is home. This looked like maybe a Honda 250 as base?

Fantastic site, thanks alot. There goes the weekend. It's times like this I almost wish I had something faster than slow dialup. I'm saving them, then burning to CD and also I will print them out in case no computer is handy.
