hydraulic directional control valve

I have a B250 International tractor which has some kind of isolation or bypass valve with a small tee handle on the hydraulic valve body.The handle rattles around but it wont turn,i dont want to force it until i am sure it is supposed to turn.I will eventually have to strip the dcv as there isnt enough grunt in the 3 point linkage and i can see where someone has been at the pressure relief valve.(butchered) Are parts still made for this tractor as it has a broken piston in the injector pump,my fault,got the tractor for free and it had not run for 10 years sitting in the rain.It pulls ok but i dont want to keep using it on 3 cylinders.

That is not a common tractor here in the States but there are some around and you should be able to find some parts from a recycler. Do you know if there was a U.S. equivilent model to the B250 ?

the b250,275 and414 were exported from britain all over the world . have not found a source for the b250 injection pumps but some engine parts can be had from ytmag.may have used parts for injection pump , not sure on the directional valve may be an add on lubing with penitrating oil and gentle rocking back and forth wont free it? can you take a pic of it?

I thought from the pic it looked like a 414. There are some of the 414's at the salvage yards for certain. I have neighbor that has a running 414 that is still used in his operation. It is stout for its size and a dependable tractor.
PS...I think you have a BD144 engine, look on the injector pump for the brand of pump and if needed I will assist in locating the parts for the pump or a place of rebuild.

Yeah, the IH B414 was the later big brother to the B250. There are still B250's in use - my brother has one not a hundred yards from me now. You would be able to get service from a hydraulics specialist. Parts may still be available from agricultural machinery dealers. They are DEFINITELY available from farm machinery wreckers. I don't know what the appropriate ag. newspaper in the Wimmera or wherever you are is, but it's "The Land" here, and there are always listings for wreckers in the classified ads for farm machinery.

They used a BD-144 diesel engines that were also used in B275, 276, 354, 2300A Industrials As Well As The TD-5 Crawler and 500 Crawler

Thanks for all the info,i reckon i will be able to iron the bugs out of my toy tractor now.I went to my first tractor pull the other day at Quambatook and i think i might give it a go,I have 460 ford motor in the kids paddock car that i could whack in something.The biggest motor on the day was a rolls royce V12 Meteor,unfortunately they were having trouble with the non genuine fuel injection and it ran like my old inter.What sort of drive trains are used in the US?
