Pressure washer help

Hi all,
I have a Karcher K 2.26 electric pressure washer that wiped itself out somehow.
Pump runs constantly, water flows thru the wand, but I get more pressure straight from the hose.
Took it apart...found that the "O" ring failed and let all the oil out. Replace with new "O" ring and oil, reassembled, put the water and electricity to it and...a slight increase in pressure, and the pump runs constantly...not just when needed.
Is there something I missed, or when the "O" ring went and the oil vacated, it was pretty much mechanical death?
Hate to buy a new one if this is fixabale...but don't know enough about them...downloaded the exploded views and manuals, ad the only thing I came across was the "O" ring and oil loss.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Matt

I had one for a while and I enjoyed it right up to when the warranty expired. I did not have many hours on it. Mine did what yours did. I played with the mess too.

It turns out that there was a repair place a block from my home. They said they could repair for a hundred fifty dollars plus the fifty dollars I had to pay to take the six screw out and look inside the plastic case...and said that he would just put a new compressor in it. I am such a mark.

I thought that the compressor looked like a throw away, so I through the whole thing away. I would not buy another one of that type. I have gotten by without one by using the hose and a little soap and water, degreaser and accepting when things get a little dirty...except me.

Ouch! Can get a new one for $89.99.
I'd prefer a gas one, but I use it rarely...but when I use it, it is needed...hose pressure not enough for some of the jobs I want to do.

Laughing. I feel taken advantage all over again. I must have repressed these thoughts. Thanks for helping me get them out.

I want a gas one too. But, a better one. One that won't cost $8.99 an hour. Good luck.

I have a Honda engine from a pressure wahser that self destructed after an hour of use...the compressor died. They removed the engine, and sent the unit for repair...or so they thought. Turs out maintenance trashed it... the engine was next for the trash. It was offered to me gratis. 1 pull and it is truly a Honda...sweet little engine. Currently hooked up to a small genset.
