snow blade on riding mower question

Hope someone has experience with these! I have an opportunity to buy a brand new, Husqvarna snow blade for use with riding lawn mowers. Problem being we have two mowers and neither one is a Husqvarna, one is a Murry Yard Pro or something similar and I forget the other one. Anyway, I can get this for a price of 75.00, it's brand new and Sears sells them for 349.00 Not a hydraulic or electric model, you have a trigger type deal to squeeze and lever to raise, lower and tilt the blade. Think it is worth investing the money in it? Dh has a welder and could attach the plate deal to our mower if it has the space, but the picture of the Husqvarna mower looks like it sits higher, I just don't know. Any thoughts? We're getting older and it would be nice to be able to clear those rare snows we get, or push the horse poop all into a pile so I can pick it up with a fork If nothing else, I might be able to double my money by selling it in the fall?

You would need to add some weight to the rear wheels likely to gain traction maybe chains too. Pretty cheap to pick up and as you say just sell it if its too much work or impractcal

depends on year. Some husqvarna's were made by the same manufacturer as craftsman.
I would put ag or atv tires same size and rear wheel weights.

Many front garden tractor blade is adapted to fit a different brand isn't really all that hard.
For light fluffy snows you can get by fine with tire chains on those turf tires. For heavier snows and stuff you might want to fill the tires with Wind shield washer (25 to 30 below stuff) fluid for weight.

I am getting ready to adapt a simplicity blade on my Polaris ATV.

chains and weights for the back wheels.
Used to keep a 2 gallon gas can full of sand bungeed to the back as well.
A lot of those things can be adapted to any type of equipment. Just picked up a Weed Eater rider with a Craftsman blade on it.

I have used on of these on a old Sears garden tractor.

Working It gets very old in a hurry and I'm in pretty good shape.

When I live in Colorado Springs, the snow was rare, but when it did come it was wet and deep.

I doubt if the mower's transmissions are strong enough, to handle tire chains and pushing a snow blade.

Thanks for the ideas and info! I went ahead and bought the blade before I was able to read them, figuring at the worst we would sell it. I thought about the weight might be needed, but totally didn't take chains into consideration! Good idea. We might just end up using it to push the horse apples into piles to make it easier to pick them up, but sure couldn't hurt to give it a try. Thanks again!
