Pickup mirror metal piece to window

Wont stay stuck. I tried 2 times, then I took the grinder and marred the glass around where it had stuck. Tried 2 more times.
Getting ready to try again soon.

Im wondering, isn't their a mirror that more or less all of it nearly sticks to the window?

There is a special glue you use to attach a rear view mirror to the windshield. I've used it before and it worked well.

yep, Ive bouht the special glue 3 times.

Didn't work.
Today I stopped at a auto supply store and bought a metal piece that the mirror slides on although I already have one I been trying to make work. THIS ONE has a stickum on the back. You just peel off the paper and stick it on. Ill try it tomorrow

Skip the glue-on type and get a suction cup style.

I had the same problem as you with replacement mirrors not sticking. I sometimes use a backup camera, but have learned to love not having a rear-view mirror in the cab. Most of the time they are an annoyance from a tailgater with bright lights anyway.

Problem with those kits is people do not follow the directions and clean the area well enough. We used acetone at work to clean the spot of all glue from the factory stickum then applied the glue to the metal part we had cleaned set against the wind shield and wiggled it a bit to get all the air out held it for a bit and it worked.
