Question: Air compressors

What is the advantage, if there is one, of a dual tank compressor versus a single tank if the capacity is of equal size?

Non just one more tank to worry about . I have a 40 gal tank on the compressor then tied to a 30 gal tank with an air drier I can use all tanks or just one .When using a DA and other air tools I use both as it gives me a good reserve

I see the small "stacked" dual tank compressors, like 6 or 8 gal compressors and they cost more than a compressor with a single tank of comparable size and was curious why anyone would buy them. Seems to me that 8 gals is 8 gals whether it's in one tank, two tanks or ten tanks. I figured there had to be a reason for them, just couldn't figure it out.

Main reason I have seen for the two tanks is most have a lower center of gravity ,this helps if you toss it in the bed of a pickup for transporting .

the lower twin stack compressor has saved many a fly wheel on the belt driven machines by lowering the center gravity and helping them ride in the bed of a pickup truck or back of a van,
