Well I don't know what you are changing the Isuzu motor to or whether we are talking gas or diesel but...as one who has done many gas to diesel, gas to bigger gas, and gas to electric swaps you will always encounter problems. With a simple adapter you can fit about any motor to any tranny but mounts to crossmembers, motor mounts, etc you will have to fab them. Electrically is simple atleast for me. All you have to do is make the new motor believe it is running in its old home. Not hard...just swap the harness, computer, etc from the donor vehicle. Little more info and can tell you more...

Lot's of craziness sums it up, heck even swapping Ford to Ford has its moments! Sounds like a fun project though and we'd luv to hear all about it and help if we can!! Sounds like you're swapping the engine and tranny that's probably a little easier than trying to adapt a Rice burner to a domestic tranny. (hey I'm sure there are plates out there to do that!) Your're going to need a Ranger wet clutch assembly I would think, even if its powering the Isuzu clutch. It IS a hydraulic clutch on that right? Then you've got the electric to deal with and this is where you hope someone like jojeeper works for beer. Its almost a black art but fun to help with electrical. Mounts are grunt and swear jobs, but usually not to bad. Except where it interferes with the steering. You'll want to be friends with a guy who has an exhaust pipe bender too, same issue, mounts will get in the way of pipes and vice versa. You'll likely need to cut the drive shaft and weld and balance the doner ha;f shaft on... unless you're lucky and there's a usable yoke/joint. If its 4x4 compound all your problems X2 Is it a diesel Isuzu? Front suspension weight could be an issue, you might need heavier front springs and bushings. And cooling issues too.... but its a ranger not a fiero so no biggie!! Again you'll have some tank issues if you're going to diesel, the fill is different, filtre etc. You're going to want a standard steering column and the floor will need a custom cut and fit job. There's a chance you'll need to change inner wheel wells and various fluid containers too. You had nothing better to do right?

The Isuzu oil pump is shot, and has messed up the engine. Cant find a oil pump to prolong its life, so am changeing it. Where in Kans are you? I was born raised between Atc hison and Wathena,Troy.
I now live 35 miles SW of Tulsa, Creek Co. Between Bristow, Beggs, and Kellyville.

Which is the easier go. Keeping the ranger carb and reworking connections,m OR keeping the suzi carb and finding a plate to match up.
Also NOW, I hear that the manifold may come off on the opp side, which is no big deal, but big enough.
