Some trans-axles from sears are marked non-serviceable, but if you are border line braindead-genius you can modify them yourself. I've seen where guys have drilled drain holes and installed plugs as to change fluid. Take them apart and improvise new springs where they are broken in these trans axles, from spring that are similar out of the farm store to replace them and keep them operating for years. Some have many springs inside, up to 10, and some need oil changed and clean oil installed, then get ready for the hard part of bleeding all the air out. pull engaged with another lawn tractor, or push downhill till you get hard pressure in drive. just get in there and start experimenting, or take it to sears. good luck
