How to clean a freezer

We have an older upright freezer my wife really likes. I put a killowatt meter on it and it is using four times as much power as the same sized chest freezer we also have, so I am wondering if it needs to be cleaned. The coils are covered in the back so is there a way to get at them to vacume them off? Thank you for all your help.

Yours doesn't have coils on the bottom? That's where our coils are. They can get pretty dirty from sucking in dust and hair off the floor, especially if you have a pet inside.
