2001 dodge ram headlights

I just bought some new headlights for my truck. I can't get the o ring on the bulb into the seat. I know you can't get oil on the bulb, but is there something else I can use to lube the ring so it seats easier?

Might try a little dish soap on the o ring. Be very careful not to touch or get it on the bulb. Good luck. Sam

Try a bit of bees wax which can be put on with the O ring removed.

If I remember right the one on the right side is a bear because of a brace making it hard to apply pressure to seat the bulb.

Well the right one is in. Not sure how I did it, it just suddenly was in. The other one is still giving me a hard time. I will have to wait until it is warmer. -20 C today.

LOL!

There is the problem! Some plastics have no "give" at low temps. If you need it done in a timely matter, try a hair dryer to preheat everything a bit.
