Bad wheel or master cylinder, air in hydraulic brake lines. check the brake fluid and top it up if you are driving the vehicle. Do not let this problem go for long as it is not safe.

Sounds like something losing pressure in the brake's hydraulic system. What vehicle?

Master cylinder worn out. Replace very soon.

Air in the lines will feel spongy right away.

If a wheel clyinder is leaking enough to feel it on the pedal, then the pedal would quickly go to the floor. and the fluid in the reservior would be very low.

If the vehicle has rear drum brakes the adjusters could be seized. You stop but the rear wheel cyls keep moving the shoes out as the adjusters no longer are keeping them in the correct position.
