PTO shaft help needed

I am still working with this generator.
PTO shaft help needed - Shop Talk

I need to attach something to the shaft. It measures 3/4". It is a 6 spline shaft. I have found every other size but 3/4". I have a lawn mower part but it is 1/2" and all the searching has not brought up any thing 3/4". TSC has the perfect product but it is 1 1/8"

Graniger may have those splined couplers, may need a few more measurements, like spline width, notch depth and such

This yoke-- http://www.tractorsupply.com/agricul...-4-in--0270061
when used with a piece of square keystock will enable you to adapt for use with tractor PTO. TSC has the necessary pieces to complete the PTO shaft.

I think the old style Ford loader coupler (Ford 5000, 6600 etc) for the front mount Cessna hydraulic pump is a 6 spine 3/4 inch coupler and shaft. Try a New Holland farm machinery dealer.

Wait no that was when we hooked up a Belarus hydaulic pump to the Ford. So a Belarus pump connector for a 400/425 tractor should work.

That last link would fit but I need to be able to connect something to it.
I found this
http://www.ford-tractor-part.com/for...it-l601-14.htm
plus this
http://shops.godaddy.com/ProductList...4&fs=0&cb=true

My ultimate goal is a shaft to attach a wind turbine.

Steff

You should be able to make one that will work. I cannot send a drawing but I can link you to what I am suggesting. Get a piece of round stock and cut it to the length you want and then bore the connection end that goes to the splined shaft to the shaft diameter. Now replicate the slots shown on this coupling and use a couple of socket head screws to make the clamping action. https://sdp-si.com/eStore/PartDetail...861&GroupID=55 The homemade coupling will grip the splined shaft very securely. Probably equal to or better than the shear strength of the male spline shaft. I PTO driver a 12 GPM hydraulic pump at 2000 PSI using a similar design. If you want added insurance, cross drill a hole through the homemade spline and one of the shaft splines and insert a grade 8 bolt

How about a pulley with set screws? Then you can figure the optimum ratio and adjust the rpms accordingly.
