Stihl Gas Leak

My Stihl 025 is leaking gas when it runs. Starts and runs as usual.
I took off the rear cover over the spark plug & air filter, and noticed a plastic port that comes up off the top of the gas tank. Looks like there should be a tube or line attached to it, but it's missing on mine.

Anyone know what this part is called or looks like? Where does it go? I have to assume it must not be too critical, since the saw is still running without it. Is it something I should plug up? I will contact my local dealer, just wondered if I could get any feedback here. Might be a while before I get in there.

Sounds like some kind of breather or recirculation tube. Check the carb and see if there is a tube coming out that has become disconnected at the other end.

Does your saw have a primer bulb?

If it has a primer bulb I'm guessing that the return line from the primer is missing. Look here.

No, no primer bulb.
I looked, but was unable to find a parts schematic on line for my saw. Hopefully later today I'll have th time to go out and open it up and have a look for a dangling return line. I just don't know how it would run if one was missing though!

It sounds like a vent line to me, since it's at the top of the tank

There should be a tube with a couple of screws in it.

The part should be less than $5.

Here's what I found by searching "Stihl 025 gas tank vent"

It is indeed the gas tank vent. Local store has it for $4.40. Going to pick one up now. Thanks!
