Airless paint sprayers??

Anyone have a Wanger airless painter? Specifically the Wagner Spray Fast Plus Power painter. ($72 @ Sam's Club)

Our church needs to do some painting, OK a lot of painting. I'd like to use an airless sprayer but years ago I had a bad experience with a Wanger airless sprayer. It was a royal pain in the rump because the paint couldn't be too thick nor too thin, it would clog and several other things caused me to say bad words. Are the new ones better?

I'm not sure if this model would be adequate or if we should spend a few more bucks and get the Wagner Paint Crew ($172). We are looking to paint what would probably equivalent to painting a large two story house with primer and probably two coats of paint.

Trying to keep the price below $200 (under $100 is better of course) is there another brand or model you'd suggest?

Just rent a good professional airless sprayer and stay away from the low end junk.

Yup I bought a paint crew loaned it twice and it's pretty much junk. Never even used it myself! I'm told its an easy fix if the parts can be found!

check the pawn shops for gently used contractor paint sprayers, you may pay a little more than $200 but in this economy prices are negotiable for sure.... I was in one shop a month back locally here in North central Idaho and there was 2machines for under $300 each ready to go. and the machines hold value so you could sell them after you were finished too.

Another place to check is paint stores where they repair and take units in on trade from contract painters....

I personally would not want to use one of those wagner sprayers on a project as large as you say..... but ive "pulled trigger" on jobs that size and was finished in less than a day, ding a fine job being paid by the sq foot, not the hour and i was nt donating time to a good cause either.

I bought a $75 wagner electric airless two years ago and it was absolute trash. We couldn't even get it to paint decent enough to get even coverage on a little bookshelf. It sprays more like a hose than the fine even mist that it should. For us, it was a worthless waste of time and we returned it to the store.

I bought one of those airless spryers about 25 years ago that holds maybe a quart of paint. It was ok for a few years painting a house we had but was a pain in the butt. Good for smaller stuff.

Since I have a setup that sucks it out of a 5 gal. bucket. It's a Wagner and have used the heck out of it and does really well. The key is to clean it real well after every use. If not, it turns to crap real quick.

I think I was about $250 and was a reman unit.

I am still using a Graco EH 300 and that was one of there first commercial airless units and parts are still available for it, it is now pushing 40 years old, I have put hundreds of gallons of paint trough it, and I do not know how many the professional painter did that I bought them from did,

look into a titan pole gun as well, 550-SC-12,

I used way more paint than I thought I should have with a Wagner last time I used one.

I agree with renting a unit if you can.

I now roller and brush everything this side of lattice anymore...
