Anyone know where the fuel sensor is located on a 99 S-10 with a 4 cylinder engine, and what would cause them to continue to go bad? It seems every six months we pay someone to replace this thing. If I knew where it was I'd change it myself. Thanks,

Tell me exactly what fuel sensor you mean? Are you talking about the fuel gauge sending unit? If you're paying to have something replaced especially that often didn't you get the old one from the shop or have them point to what they replaced? What is actually wrong with the truck?

The fuel pump relay is on the firewall near the brake booster. It is a little cube w/ a few wires pluged into the bottom, there is two or three of them in a row. One for the A/C, one for the criuse and one for the fuel pump. They are around $10.00 at advanced auto and around $15.00 at GM...both are now made in china, GM just puts the little white box saying made in china inside a blue & grey Goodwrench box and charges more...

The fuel gauge sender is located in the tank, it hangs from the fuel pump...You need to remove the bed -or- drop the fuel tank for access...

are they replacing the mapping sensor? oxygen sensor, ele fuel pump fuse-relay, volume sensor. it might help if you get the old part and complete name and function from them. I bet you could easily find a fix on youtube or any viral video site. or just a simple how to fix or repair search on google, but I just don't know exactly what your speaking about, I've worked on too many different kinds of vehicles instead of specializing on one certain model like chevy. and there are way too many to know all of them any more not like it was back in the 60's. best wishes, ray
