Winter projects

What are you folks working on in this winter?

I am still gathering up a couple items to build a short dirt/gravel conveyor for prospecting. I have the idea of using an old aluminum ladder as the framework and keeping the thing lightweight, only for a shovel full at a time being tossed on.

Just some renovations. Thought I`d add another bath room and I guess that it is a priority. Then rip out the other one and replace it. Not my favorite reno......... and I`m helping a friend who does this sorta thing full time and he has a few more lined up. Swell. I`ll aim at the kitchen for next winter, I like kitchen renos.

I wish I could say that I had some cool projects in the works, but right now, I am just trying to keep the place going. It seems like as soon as I have one problem solved, something else breaks or there is a major kink in something that should be running smoothly.

My big project that I have been planning is an O gauge train layout for my Lionel trains. At first, I was going to make this a big layout...at least big to me. Original plans measured 5 x 21, with a possible L leg adding another 4 x 8 and capable of running 4 trains at once, and a 5th S gauge American Flyer on it's own track. With all the problems and broken stuff that needs attention, I am now just hoping to get a 4 x 8 one train operation completed. So much for grand plans, right?

I have been able to clear out a ton of stuff...decluttering and getting rid of stuff has been our number 1 goal this winter. It really isn't that bad, but it is time for some stuff to go. Ebay has been very good for selling some of this stuff.
