Meyer Snow Plow

New valves and wiring still will only angle to the right. Must be some kind of check valve stuck. You can tell the motor works hard but will not turn. I can turn it left by hand with the if the lever is pushed left. Any ideas??

Thanks

I have a Western plow with cable controllers.

My plow blade would not turn left or right the first time out this winter. Water had gotten into the control box and froze, consequently the lever for right/left would not turn when the cables tugged on it. You might have ice somewhere in the left side hoses, ram or fittings.

If you're sure there is no ice in the lines, then I'd disconnect the hose from the left ram and have someone press the button inside the quick disconnect fitting with a screw driver. Move your joystick to the left and see if fluid shoots out the disconnect. If it does, you may have a mismatched male and female disconnect coupling. If it doesn't, the problem is likely in the control valve.

I assume you've seen this:

Be fore you tear into it make sure that the hoses are hooked up. What you described is one hose is hooked up right and the other one is not.

Check your ground to the two solenoids on the driver side of your lift ram. This drove me crazy....twice, I forgot how I fixed it the first time. Remove the nuts and wire brush below them.

Tried it all so it seems to be a broken check valve spring. I'm going to remove the unit later and have a better look. Up ,down and to the right are fine I replaced the green selonoid and valve. and the wiring so it has to be something in the valve block.

Thanks

Mike
