Where to Get a "round pin" for Bush Hog

I'll post in Homesteading ?s too.
The little round pin broke in half inside the over running coupler that goes over the shaft from the rear of the tractor. Looked on line & seems like you have to buy the whole thing-the over running coupler thing. Being a gal, I should say "thingy".
Anyway, wondered if anyone knew if tractor supply would have this in their store?
Thanks-
Patty

Shear pin, made to break to avoid damage to PTO if you hit something hard. Tractor supply may have them, otherwise go to equip dealer. My dad would use soft bolts of the appropriate size that would shear as easily and cost less to purchase.

Do you mean the pin that retains the overrunning coupler on the PTO shaft that comes out the back of the tractor?

How does this pin retain the coupler to the shaft? Does it go through a hole in the coupler and the PTO shaft? Or, is it on the circumference of the coupler and spring loaded?, locks into a recess in the PTO shaft??

Or, is it a pin inside the overrunning coupler itself? Does the coupler itself still function correctly? Will the brushhog turn when power is applied through the PTO shaft?

If it is the pin that retains the coupler to the tractor PTO shaft, any good farm supply store should have one. (either type)

Suggest if you are able to find a replacement pin, you check the PTO shaft telescoping section for binding, (bent, twisted, lack of lubrication)

I believe she is asking about the round pin in this pic. Lowe's has this in their small cabinet of split pins in the hardware department. The pin is driven into the PTO shaft to hold the overrunning clutch onto the PTO shaft. If I recall correct the pin needs to be positioned/centered to where the clutch housing can rotate. A zerk fitting on one side of the housing and a threaded plug on the other side make the pin captive. Only a small amount of friction is required to hold the pin "centered" and most people learn to reduce the OD of the pin so that it can be removed easily.

Oh so the thingy is called a roll pin? That's what mine used when I adapted it to my 38 flail chopper.

Oh-Oh-Oh-that's IT!
Thank you Agmantoo, I was afraid I'd have to try to copy/paste/etc.
I'll get DH to read the responses-thank you all sooooo much!

Hey Agmantoo,
Thanks for the info. That is exactly what I need. Great of you to research and find me a link. Jim (DH of Tricky G.)

Ross,
In my world, the pin with a single turn is a split pin. The pin that has multiple turns of metal is a roll pin/coiled spring pin. Roll pins are capable of heavier loads and I usually associate them with earth moving machinery
