Drill bit sharpener.

I used to be able to sharpen them pretty good on a bench grinder, but eyesight and age are making this a futile attempt.

Anyone use a drill bit sharpening tool, that works good, but not costing a fortune?

I'm in the same boat as far as sharpening bits go. I bought a Drill Doctor and it works good.

I recently bought a Black and Decker electric drill bit sharpener at an auction for $15. It looked brand new and it works great for me. The only probably is the maximum bit size it will sharpen is 3/8".

Not having a bench grinder to sharpen bits on I purchased a Drill Doctor sharpener several years ago. A price tip on Yesterday's Tractors Tool Talk informed readers that Sears was going to have them on sale at ultra low prices and when combined with a credit card application the pricing was hard to refuse, and I didn't.

I only wish I would have had one years ago which would have saved the aggravation of dull bit use many times over.

I'm happy with mine. One does need to pay special attention to detail when loading the drill bit for sharpening or you will actually make it worse. Not a problem, just resharpen correctly.

I've got the unit that will sharpen larger sized bits as well since I have several that I use.
