Stihl 031AV

Just bought a 20" bar/chain combo on ebay for it-they were new in package, and says it for the 03 series...now I'm sure i remember that the AV has nothing to do w/ the bar, chain, etc, but wanting to be sure. My old chain and this new one even look different...the chain sprocket teeth are closer together on the new one...any ideas here?

it's probably a different pitch and/or gauge. The pitch will probably be either .325 or .375, and the gauge will be .050 or .063. Look on your original bar down near the bolt end, and it should tell you what pitch and gauge it is. Compare that to the new and see if they match. If not, you'll either have to get another bar and chain in the old pitch/gauge, or change the sprocket to the new pitch/gauge.
