Sears garden tractor transmission

I've got a 26 hp Craftsman DGS6500 garden tractor with approximately 70 hrs on it. Today I went out to mow, and the tractor lost power, and then cam eout of gear. It is as if it is now stuck in neutral. The mower still works, the engine still runs, but it doesn't go anywhere.

I'd hate to call out the repairman and find that it is just a broken pin or something that I can easily fix. Any input would be appreciated.

Not familiar with that model- is it belt drive? The drive belt on mine-18hp bought in 2000- sometimes "jumps" off the pulley on the transaxle. It is fairly simple to put back on mine. Look under the seat area and see if you can access it . If all looks good, check the front pulley on the engine. Hope this is of some use to you.
