chevy 350

I have a chevy 350 4 bolt main, Its been setting for 5 Years before I had it given to me, The last owner, His Father (A so called Mechanic )Rebuilt it useing parts from 4 differnt Junkyard engines. I Know it will require Major bucks to rebuild. I got it for free, Now I have A fellow who is offering $150.00 for it. I told him let me see the cash! I Also told him what I know about the engine. He also wants my !987 Chevy 1 ton, 4 door truck. (body only) for $300.00 (thats what I paid for it) So I Am waiting for the cash. So does this sound decent???? I mean I can live with the deal. Any thoughts???

I wish I could buy the truck but envy aside if you're happy then where's the problem? I think you can safely say you've made a few bucks and made someone happy assuming the truck is relatively solid.

If you're happy with the deal go for it. We have a '91 (maybe '93) Chevy 350 4 speed 4WD with towing package that DH bought for $500, but he drove it home. It runs great and we know it was always taken care of because it belonged to his step-fathers' father (older guy that used to haul livestock). He was going to put a new box on it (needs one badly) but now has decided he doesn't want it. I doubt I'll ever see him drive a truck that doesn't have a Ram on it LOL.....

He was going to get a plow set-up for it, but instead has decided to fix the cab mounts on the Dodge plow truck. He plans to sell the Chevy I guess? Anybody want it?

If you paid $300 and sell at $450, that equals profit - and is always good.

Deep South Texas eh? I'll bet that 87 body has very little rust. Around here, an 1987 vehicle is quite rare - I've seen 1997 vehicles here so rusted they're undriveable.

Chevy 350 that's rebuildable here is $300-$400. The one-ton if in decent shape would bring $500-$1,000 without engine. Your mileage may vary.

I pay 0-$50 for 350 engine cores around here. I picked up the last complete engine from a Chevy truck for free. I'd act real nice to someone giving me $150 for a pig in a poke.

Hey.

You can get $200 for the 4 bolt main bare block alone if it's stock bore and in good rebuildable condition(no cracks, cylinder pitting, etc.)
