freezer trouble

One of my freezers, which is a little over a year old, stopped working. I have a hard time thinking it is the compressor, based on the age of the freezer. What else could it be??

Coils could be frozen. Hmmm... Oklahoma... Been a bit hot and humid there lately? Probably the coils are 'sealed' (most new freezers are) but if not check to see if there's frost/ice built up on them. If they are sealed, just turn it off for a few (3-4) hours to let them defrost and see if that fixes it. Just do not open the door for any reason! until a couple of hours after you turn it back on.

Also, check for power. Could be on a circuit with something else and tripped the breaker.

If the device has a defrost timer, most of them have a special screwdriver slot (can only be turned one way).
Try giving it a quarter turn to see if it starts.
Try connecting a "jumper" across the thermostat. Make the connections with the unit unplugged first!

If you're not comfortable trying these, perhaps a neighbour or relative will assist
