shallow well pump

Im gonna sell my shallow well pump and tank, its a 1hp, the cast iron cracked this winter so it leaks bad, but someone who welds should be able to fix it. whats a fair price to ask??

I also have a towing hitch with 2 balls, that was used to pull a camper, what would be a fair price for that?
I really need the money but have no idea what to charge.

Busybee I recommend selling the tank for $ 50 if it's the old style or $ 75 if it is a bladder type, assuming that the units look ok. If it's bright shiny new, you might get more. Unfortunately, welding a cracked iron pump is a very specialized job and should one have the skills and a method of preheating the iron, after dissassembly, prep, welding or brazing, cleaning and reassembly, you could easily have 6+ hours in the project. You can't just plop it on the bench and zap it with a bead, iron is tricky. One would have to reevaluate how much you want to spend on fixing the thing vs. replacing it with new. I would give the pump away to someone who has the skills to fix it.

Cast iron is easy to weld, just place your four fingers next to the place that needs to be welded, notice the distance to the outside of your fingers., move your hand to across that line. Start welding, once you feel the heat at the distance of the fingers width, stop welding until it is completely cold again. If its foreign made cast iron, reduce the distance to 3 fingers.

Cutting a groove with whatever type of rotary abrasive tool that is available is very desirable.

Assuming your hitch device is the insert-able 2 inch square item, it should be some where near $15 to 20 at a place where one is needed. If there is no need, there is no market. Is it a standard 5/8th hole at 4 inches from the most inside end? I recently purchased a single ball mount insert, it came to $21.00 with the insert and a single ball. Any rust - it distracts. Is the cross pin and its keeper present?
