Another 96 GMC question

Anyone know what years of rearends fit this truck. My truck started clanging when I put it in to drive. It is also starting to rumble down the road.
Seems to be driving fine otherwise, but I am going to start looking for a rear end. A posi track or limited slip if possible. I don't want to change the gearing though. It is good on gas.

Check U joints, as mentioned above. If I were wagering, I would say that is your problem. Inexpensive to repair I am told.

As started ck U-Joints first. Even if it is a bearing in the rear much easier and cheaper to repair what you have, no need for another rear. There's no magic in there, just parts installed by man.
