Decent sanders?

We're looking for a decent sander for doing some extensive refinishing work.

I'm wondering if there is something better than a palm/orbital sander but not as heavy and beastly as belt sander. And ideas?

I'm working on tongue and groove ceiling and have to hold it up. BTW, I am a wimpy-thing.

So far as I know a small orbital sander is your best bet. Hope it's a really small ceiling....

Takes yer choice. But, I would advise a hook and loop (which most are.) If you're really wimpy then you probably would not care about vac attachment requirements, though most of the bags are just short of worthless.

What are you trying to do to it. Might be easier to scrape it. There actual scraper tools. Not just some putty knife
If your trying to just sand between coats of finish then a scraper would be easy.
WHen I finish furniture the only thing I sand is moldings. The rest is scraped
