John Deere 316 leak

Just got an '89 JD 316 mower, and noticed a slight rear end leak-is there a special tranny fluid JD has to use? This thing didn't come w/ a manual, so if it uses reg tranny fluid, I've got it, but hate to add it if it something totally different! thanks!

They sell manuals. Maybe with a little searching you could find the info online too
