Ran good, had a miss in it. When ya would mash on the gas it would die again. Has had new fuel-pump put on,another alternator, battery,. Now it won,t even start, think it may be out of time,or something. Have any ideas.?But it ran so good, before hand!!!

Sounds like a charging system problem. The alternator doesn't appear to be charging correctly.

Turn the key when its very quiet out, listen for a clicking sound as to the location of the impact automatic fuel cut off. Usually under the dash, its purpose is to stop the fuel pump after a collision but while the electrical system is still active. There could also be scorched wires that connect to it. If there is no clicking sound, you should only hear it once per key turn, check the fuses, and then put your ear to the open fuel intake port, there should be a soft metal humming sound if the fuel pump is working. There is also a relay in the system that occasionally fails.

dead merc

Make sure the connector to the alternator isn't melted. Ford had lots of problems with that. If you replaced the alt yourself, there should have been a note there in the instuctions (if all else fails, read) to replace the connector. If you paid someone to replace the alt, make sure the connector was replaced. The rollover switch will not cause the car to start and die. Just won't start.

Sounds like a lot of guessing going on.
What are the symptoms now? What does it do when you try to strt it now, does the engine turn over or is it still like a dead battery.
Model and engine size might help with the guessing.

After we replaced the alt. it ran pretty good, only had miss. When ya mashed the gas, like going up hill, it would die. Now since sil messed with it . It won,t crank. He kept tinkering with distribulator and think he has it off time now!! It just won,t crank. He is a BIG___BOOB!Thinks he knows everything and don,t know nothing!
