This is a good spot to look at and compare several guns at one time. I have bought several from this site and have no complaints. Prices are usually alittle better than the local dealer but not always. My choice for affordable and reliable small caliber rifle would be a HOWA in a 22-250.

marlin x7 JJ is getting sub MOA with his in 243

check out his one ragged hole thread in home defense and guns

http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...2B1+22+SYN+DLR

the savage axis , ruger all American and marlin x7 are the top entry level guns on the market right now it boils down to features and feel all are reporting very good accuracy

the Howa runs a bit more but features a hogue stock

it's all about features and feel now you need to hold each and see which comes to the shoulder most naturally , which has the best bolt feel

the ruger has a shorter lift on the bolt some like that

where do you like the safety , do you like blind magazine or removable is a user adjustable trigger important ?

Talking

Look for used at your local gun shop. the one I deal with has a range so you can try rifles and pistols out. they also have a 5 stand and skeet set up so you can try out before buying.

they right now have a nice selection
Remington 788 in 222.
Savage 11 with Simmons scope in 22-250
Remington 700 in 223
Mossberg MPV in 223
Savage 112 in 220 swift with Leopold 6.5x20 scope includes sun shade.
Savage 112 in 220 swift with 4.5x14 scope. ( they list it as a Leopold fake.)
