Sick of mushrooms............

Yeah, you read that right. Understand that I can't find a stinking morel to save my life but I sure can find oyster mushrooms! They started showing up a little over 2 weeks ago and there has been a bumper crop. I've filled numerous 5 gallon pails of them. Pickled them, dried them, and ate them. This weekend it concluded with a camping trip involving mounds of several different types of meat, and mushrooms with every meal. Sauteed and mixed with scrambled eggs, crock pot with pork roast, fried with garlic and topping steaks and chops. I really don't want to eat another mushroom for awhile, at least not an oyster.

But I'll be ready when the hen-o-the-woods show up.....................

Bragger!
I'm so jealous!! When I find a few morels (and I mean very few) I act like I've found gold! I need to hunt hen-o-the-woods. They've got to be around here.
I always look forward to your mushroom posts.....living vicariously!

I've considered growing mushrooms, just haven't gotten around to cutting the logs and ordering the spawn. Even then it's not like finding the "free" ones.

Sue, I don't think I could ever get too many morels. Had a taste this weekend but that was it. I'm thinking about ordering some spawn too. I always find a few hens, just depends on the weather how many. Last 2 years was too dry in August.
