The first

roadkill Otter I've ever seen. Coming home from town today and found a big male Otter alongside Hwy 63. I stopped and looked him over, beautiful animal and the pelt was still in pretty good condition, not torn up at all. Quite fresh, I suspect he was killed last night or early this morning. I was temped to bring him home and process the hide but, no license and out of season, so I just left him.

I'd be checking with land owners near by to see if you can trap the area in the fall when season opens , if they are going to waste being hit by cars then there is likely to many for the area and it could use some thinning.

Good call leaving it there. Good call by GREENCOUNTRYPETE too. Do you know when your Missouri trapping season opens? Is there much water in the area? Other signs?

You know that in Minnesota we can get a permit to keep road kill, right? I think it's 5 bucks.
