Novel Anchor, Throw-away (sorta)

Well, after reading about this idea I thought I'd try it and WOW it worked!

Fishing from a kayak I've found that at times "premade" anchors sometimes just don't hold or you spend time trying to raise it from the bottom cause it hooked on to something and doesn't want to let go. Both very frustrating if'n in a kayak...... or other vessel.

What you use for an anchor is one of those plastic net bags that onions or fruit come in. You just put in 1-3 stones (bout 1-1 1/2 pounds for a kayak), tie your rope to the drawsting and you are all set. Need more weight open the bag add a stone; to much weight remove a stone or use smaller stones.

The only problem I can see using a plastic net bag for an anchor is if'n you happen to be in an area where there are no stones.

I've made anchors by using eyebolts and small metal funnels, and pouring them full of molten lead
They are small but heavy, and tend to not snag on things due to the shape

That's the beauty of this anchor, you come carrying the plastic net bag and rope and leave with the same - but the "weight" of the anchor is left right where you found it - shoreside......

As to leaving stuff; seems liike I always pickup and leave with more stuff than I brought; a firm believer of what's brought in, gets taken out.......

It might work where you are
I'd have to drive 100 miles West to start finding rocks, since it's sandy here
